With the US Government embracing cloud computing and Software as a Service (SaaS) as a way to reduce costs and increase efficiency, many of the barriers traditionally associated with delivering solutions to agencies are being knocked down. To put it into perspective, the US Government’s IT Budget is around $80 billion per year. Out of this $80 billion, approximately $20 billion has been identified as “moving to the cloud”. With the frictionless adoption of SaaS, a significant share of this spend will include migrations from government-developed,custom software and “heavy” on-premise software products (historically run inside government data centers), to lightweight SaaS solutions.
